A more beautiful weekend there never was for the 2022 Steer & Calf shoot. We would like to thank all the shooters who turned out for this years event. The scores were coming in high, and the temps stayed low to make for one heck of a nice shoot. Congratulations to Nick Kubasch, John Kelly, and Jim Walkowiak, this years Steer and Calf winners.
On Saturday it was Nick Kubasch and John Kelly who lead the field and tied with a 194 combined singles and handicap score. They decided to use their doubles scores as the tie breaker, where Kubasch edged Kelly, taking the “Steer”trophy, and Kelly winning the “Calf.”
Sunday was much more of the same with Kubasch and Kelly again tying, this time with a 195 and Jim Walkowiak also breaking on of the high scores of the day. The three agreed to break the ties with a gentlemanly draw of the cards, where Jim W. pulled a 6 to win the “Steer,” and Nick K. just a 5 to be declared the “Calf” winner for the day. John Kelly, seemingly out of luck pulled a 4.
ALSO: A HUGE thank you to everyone who played the $20 Lewis Class options, with half the money going to benefit the St. Cloud Police benefit association. You helped us raise over $1,500 for this cause, with 100% of the dollars staying in St. Cloud.
