Final Jackpot Shoot of the Winter
It’s been a lot of fun this winter, but all good things must come to an end. Del-Tone will be throwing the final winter jackpot shoot of 2022 on Saturday, March 26th. In addition to the food and usual chances to win, there will some additional prizes given away, so we sure hope you can make it.
This is Scott from Del-Tone. My apologies, we don’t get many messages through our website, and I didn’t notice it until recently.
The Jackpot shoot is a 50 target event. The cost is $20 per entry, and you can enter as many times as you want. Some of the money goes towards the cost of targets, and some is thrown into a pot. Each participant shoots 25 single trap targets from the 16 yard line, and 25 targets from a handicap yardage based on their first score. Basically you add 2 to your 16 yard score, and then shoot from that yardage. For instance, if you break 23 / 25 targets from the 16 yard line, you will then move to the next field and shoot the next 25 targets from the 25 yard line.
To even the playing field, the scores are ranked using the “Lewis Class” system, which allows shooters of various skill levels an equal chance to win in different classes. The high score of the day will always win A class, but there may be 2 or 3 or 4 classes depending on the number of entrants, and a cash prize goes to the top two shooters in each class.
There is also free food, usually chili or soup, and being this is the final Jackpot shoot of the winter we are randomly giving away some additional prizes like duffle bags, knives, shirts, to be honest I’m not even sure yet, but it’ll be something nice. There is no need to pre-register and you may buy shells at the clubhouse for $8.50 / box. If you wish to participate just show up on Saturday around 11am. Hope that answers all your questions.
