Steer & Calf Shoot
Save the date. Our next registered ATA trap-shoot will be September 9th & 10th. Yes, fall is right around the corner and that means the 61st annual STEER & CALF SHOOT is nearly upon us. This is one of the oldest and most historic trap-shoots in the state of Minnesota. The Steer & Calf is a two day registered ATA shoot. This shoot is so named because at one point a live steer & calf were given as trophies each day to the “steer” & “calf” winner. Although we no longer give away live animals, these prestigious honorary titles remain and this years winners are in for some pretty neat trophies. To be declared the “steer” winner you must put up the highest combined singles and handicap score of the day, the “calf” trophy goes to the second highest. There will be a “steer” & “calf” winner both Saturday and Sunday. This years steer winners will receive a beautiful working replica of a Colt 1851 Navy revolver. This high quality replica is manufactured by Pietta in Italy. It is modified from the original version as it shoots a .44 cal, comes in a shiny stainless steel, and has “Sheriff” engraved on the side. The calf winners will take home a .999 pure silver shotgun shell weighing in at 5oz. Please reserve the dates to be in St. Cloud Sept. 9th & 10th. We are really looking forward to seeing you all there again this year.
