If it wasn’t for bad weather, we’d have no weather at all this year. But that did not deter the exactly 250 high school shooters who turned out to participate in the Anvil foundation’s 2nd annual youth tournament at Del-Tone on Saturday. These “kids” had 10 traps roaring non-stop from 8:30am until mid afternoon. On a day where it would have been a whole lot easier to stay in bed, they proved to themselves and each other their toughness and desire to compete.
All said and done some 25,000 shots were fired through rain, wind and cold. Despite it all some great scores were posted, and some great memories were made. This day represented the largest shoot held at Del-Tone in recent memory in terms of the number of shooters who participated, and the first time in many years that 10 traps were throwing at once. Many thanks to the Vogel family, the coaches, the parents, and to the shooters who made this day possible.
