St. Cloud Cathedral, Foley, Big Lake, Minnewaska, Princeton, Sauk Rapids, St. Michael – Albertville, EV – Watkins, Elk River, Ogilvie, Monticello, Rogers, Sibley East -Arlington, GFW, Kimball, Brainerd, Milaca, Pierz, Becker, Sartell, St. Cloud Tech, Cambridge – Isanti, Upsala, Zimmerman, & Holdingford. Those are the 25 schools that were represented at the 2022 Del-Tone 100 high school trapshooting tournament on Saturday. All said and done 267 student athletes shot 26,700 targets off of 11 trap houses for 7 hours, not counting the shoot offs.
The scores that rolled in throughout the day were impressive, but not as impressive as the level of sportsmanship, camaraderie, respect, and maturity displayed by these young men and women. It truly was a great day, and we would like to thank the shooters, coaches, and parents for helping us make this day a reality.
Congratulations to the new varsity champions from Elk River for taking home the traveling trophy with an impressive 476 / 500, to Even Valley – Watkins for defending their JV title with a 429, and to Holdingford for retaining their Novice class trophy as well with a score of 321. Look through the photos to see many of the individual scores that were posted as the day went on. Unfortunately due to the high number of shooters, not every single score is posted here.
Moving on the the individual medal winners…With two 99’s, and four 98’s posted, most of the varsity boys who placed had to shoot it out to determine the top spots. Likewise there was a shoot off among the top female shooters on the day with three 93’s being posted, and some shoot off commenced to determine the JV boy placement as well. Once the dust settled it looked like this.
